This bag is not great.

In this price range you should get YKK zippers.

The bag is not comfortable to wear because the straps are terrible.

The internal zippered main compartment makes getting things in and out a pain.

Most 28L packs don't need waist straps because they won't be packed with enough weight and waist straps won't make a noticeable difference in carry comfort. The waist straps on this bag create unnecessary weight and dangling straps (or straps behind your back or around your waist).

There are way better options in this price range. The Osprey 26+6 is cheaper and is way better.

You can get a very good used condition AER travel pack 3 small for this price and that bag is far superior.

This is a really nice backpack. well worth the money due to its excellent design and well constructed fabrication. Its not for people who just want a daypack - overkill. It is sized to be a personal item, not a carryon. You are allowed one personal item and maybe a carryon on most flights to avoid check in fees. So I use this as a personal item. When I go on international travel 6-8 weeks at a time, I use a personal item and either a carryon or a checked bag depending on locations. This also functions as a day pack as well, so one less thing to carry. If you are going for a weekend, you can use this as a personal item to carry on a plane and it will hold a weekend worth of clothes. This is for people who want a durable personal item sized travel pack.

For those who comment on zipper issues, I looked at a lot of these and the 28L doesnt have zipper issues. Its the larger 35L that does.

The Cotopaxi Allph are widely considered one of the best. Wirecutter #1 choice. Packhacker best organization. Outdoorgearlab #1 choice

But those were the larger 35L pack. The 28L is likely best for women or smaller framed men, or someone who is also taking a carry on bag or checking luggage.

Deals do seem naked without comments, but a if deal is priced less than a previous front page deal and is getting votes it doesn't take long to get to the front page.

From my experience, it was a good backpack for me as I travel with one bag. It fits under the seat on most airlines that I traveled. The organization with the separate zippered compartments helped keep clothes and items organized. Has a nice zippered compartment for your laptop. I usually did my 3-4 day trips with this bag but have taken it on longer trips 7+, it's just a matter of packing what you need and packing minimally.
Though, I will say the there are better bags in the price range, but this is a decent starter onebag with fun color schemes. I personally use the Patagonia Mini MLC now, but there's also the Osprey 26+6 and a few others that might fit the bill for other people.

FYI, this backpack use a TPU coating that WILL scuff and deteriorate over time. It's just a matter of when. In my experience TPU is not a long lasting material that gets sticky over time. Personally I'd avoid it.

If you do a Google search on Cotopaxi scuffs and wear on their backpacks you will find images of it flaking, peeling, and scuffing.

Cotopaxi has a "Guaranteed for Good" warranty that is suppose to, "... replace any item that has been affected by a manufacturing defect for the lifetime of the product". But their warranty doesn't explicitly state they cover material fading, rather the "lifespan will be determined at the reasonable discretion of our Warranty & Repairs Team."

Not a good option for business travel. Not cool to bring your laptop to a business meeting in this.

Frankly, the brand is overpriced. Their quality and design are not corresponding to prices they charge.

Next trip I take, I plan on using a backpack similar to this as carrryon, and a crossbody bag as my personal item. Everything I need for the flight will be in the crossbody bag, so the backpack can stay in the bin.
