anybody know if black Friday prices for 85" get better than this? have had tcl 5 and 6 series 2022 black Friday editions and they've been mostly great, especially with sound system
I asked ai and it said:Based on the search results, here's how I'd think about your decision:**Current pricing context:**- The 85" TCL QM6K has an MSRP of $1,999.99 at Best Buy , so your $900 Costco price represents a massive 55% discount- This is already an exceptional deal that's well below typical retail pricing**Black Friday considerations:**The search results show some patterns for Black Friday TV deals:- TCL 85" models typically see $100-200 discounts during sales events - Other 85" TCL models have seen $450-500 off during early Black Friday sales - However, these discounts are usually from higher starting prices**My recommendation: Buy now at Costco**Here's why:1. **Already exceptional value** - At $900, you're getting a $2000 TV for less than half price1. **Costco's advantages** - Their return policy, customer service, and 5-year warranty protection are hard to beat1. **Limited downside risk** - Even if Black Friday brings slightly better deals elsewhere, the difference is unlikely to be significant enough to offset Costco's service benefits1. **Availability risk** - Good Black Friday TV deals often sell out quickly, and you might end up without the TV you wantThe peace of mind from Costco's excellent customer service, generous return policy, and that 5-year warranty makes the current deal compelling enough that waiting for potentially modest additional savings isn't worth the risk. You've already found an outstanding price on a quality TV from a retailer you trust.

Claude. I like a lot a lot. I thought this analysis is may be a little superficial but not likely to be way off base. My inquiry pointed out specifically that I wanted to buy from Costco my next TV because of its rock solid returns.

I bought less than a month ago. Successfully asked Costco to price match. Thanks OP!
Thanks for posting this. Did the same over chat and got my price adjustment as well. Incredible value for this TV. I did extensive research before pulling the trigger at $1k, and at $900 it's a no-brainer.

Do we know if increased tarrifs have affected the prices already or is that to hit later? I just had the 75" delivered Thursday from Costco. I paid $850. Glad it's still in the box. It's going back for the 85".

I bought. I have been in the market for a TV for a few months and was hoping for an 8 series TCL or Hisense deal but at 75" size. This being that much larger sold me on it along with the included 5 year warranty.

Plus, Costco has a 90 day return policy, which means I can browse all the BF deals as well to see if something better comes up.

I can't confirm but I've read that this has essentially the same panel as the QM7K? (source: reddit)

it's not the brightest but its much brighter than the cheap TVs. I think it will be plenty bright.
I dont know... you really have to double the brightness to see a huge difference. 500 nits is minimum for daylight imo, this is 450. It won't be stellar in a bright room.

Just requested a $100 adjustment at Costco.com (bought last month), hopefully there will not be an issue. Need to add it to the cart to see this price.
Set is great if you keep your expectations reasonable. It's not a $3000 Samsung or LG OLED. But it is plenty bright in a lit room, sharp, good HDR, decent sound. Order of magnitude better than the top of the line 2010 Sony Bravia 1080p it's replacing. Hope this TCL lasts as long, the Sony was trouble free the whole time.

is this a 2024 or 2025 model?

how does this do in bright living rooms?
All of the K models are 2025(at this point). The QM6K is the least bright. The other K models have significantly higher brightness specs. They are also significantly pricier.

Up to you to decide what you really need as far as brightness goes.

how does that compare to this?

if its the DU8000 that your talking about.. doesnt rate any better than this..
if im not mistaken, the samsung crystal tvs aren't in the same league as the TCL quantum TVs. the QM6k would be comparable to the Samsung Q series TVs....... from Rtings: "The TCL QM6K is much better than the Samsung Q7F 2025. The TCL has local dimming, so it displays much deeper blacks......". The crystal TV is not a deal.

Go with Costco for Hisense or TCL imo. Their support is nonexistent so have a backup plan.

Samsung is about the same after warranty is up. But at least they will help during warranty. Hisense wont

I don't know why people are jumping on this now. Wait till Black Friday comes around and you'll see even deeper discounts on the QM line because the QM9K is going to be released soon to US customers and they need to get rid of the older models.
FYI. The QM8K is significantly better than the 6K and 7K (QM8K owner here)

90day return period & $900 is less than those newer models.
