Depends on usage. At this size; it's better to use standard batteries on heavier loads.

These official Eneloop's are excellent for remotes, wireless keyboards, etc.. Measure your loads and then decide.

What heavier loads? Most of the AA powered devices are small things like this. Like I'm not gonna power my lawn mower with them.

Short answer. Yes. Buying this many rechargeable AAA batteries that you don't use often simply doesn't make sense.

Exactly. Buying 16 of these when you don't have many devices that use them doesn't make sense.

Sorry; no. There are plenty of devices that are far more demanding than a very intermittent remote control.

Perhaps more investigation might help you.

You could buy AA shells and out AAA batteries inside. I have been looking for a deal for AA for long time, there was none for a long time

I've had bad luck with Amazon "eneloops". Several failed completely fairly quickly. Now I'll just buy Amazon Basics from them, never had one fail.

I've been using these for years now for wireless mice and TV remotes and they've worked out well for that purpose... in all fairness the AAA batteries that shipped with my roku TV which are not rechargeable lasted for the better part of a year before I tossed them Stick Out Tongue ... because I'm cheap Smilie I'm still using my year 2020 AAA enloop batteries which of course after 5 years of use and that many recharges will only recharge up to 65 percent of their capacity (or so say our roku TV's anyways) but even at 65 percent these older enloops still last in the tv remotes for months... bought the eight pack of AAA enloops in 2024 again which gets used in wireless mice (see below).

If you have a lot of devices that uses AAA batteries ... for example we have multiple computer mice and remotes... it might be worth grabbing a 16 pack of batteries just so you can swap them out easily as the charge starts to run out ...although I do notice the 8 pack of these is selling for $15 which is cheaper than the $19 I paid in 2024 and I've been happy with the performance of this exact same pack that I've bought.

....in our case the enloops last a very long time in our roku TV remotes before we get a low battery warning, months... wireless mouse may run through the battery's charge more quickly depending on how often you use the mouse but even in the case of one power hungry "needs two AAA batteries" mouse the batteries go a full month before they need charging.

Regular AAs are 1.5v. These are 1.2V so you're under voltage. Many electronics are OK with being undervoltage because, well, even alkalines with lose voltage as they start to die, but certain electronics simply won't work with 1.2v batteries. Or if they do, they'll start puttering out in just an hour
