WD has 22TB Red Pro drives for 50 off, for 399.99 currently with an extra year warranty for free:
https://www.westerndigital.com/pr...=WD221KFGX

$18.13 per TB isn't the best price ever but the Red Pro drives have a great warranty and is a solid deal, especially since this includes an extra 1 year warranty so you are getting a full 6 year warranty for use in a NAS on these drives.

(I have no idea what I am doing, will gladly edit to be more proper if people tell me what to update)

I used to have a WD Red failed 3 days after warranty expired. CS casually sent me free recovery program and some random referrals to data recovery services.
This has one year extra warranty. So 6 years total.

The Red, Red Plus, and Red Pro all have different specs and MTBF. The Pro (best the best of the 3) has almost identical specs to the Gold/Ultrastar drives.

I just recently bought he UGREEN NASync DXP8800 and have been looking hard the last Week at HDD's.. I've thought about several others (Ironwolf's especially have had some very tempting deal$) but the WD Red Pro's have been the one I wanted most unless something else blew me away price wise. I admittingly have no experience with NAS/Enterprise drives (20+ Years of buying standard HDD's though) so if i'm not looking to wait too much longer would this be a solid deal to jump on?

I'm heavily leaning towards the 26tb version where I could get 4 for $1800. I was looking to spend around $2k on the HDD's and this would allow me to still have 4 more bay's to fill out probably sometime next Year with plenty of space to work with until then.

You can use the 15% from Recycling program on this deal. That brings the drive to $340 each.
This is not true. If you use the recycle coupon, the original $50 off is gone. So you'll be doing 15% from $449. So the drive comes to $382.
They fixed this now. I was able to purchase with the 15% on top of the discount price.

anyone have a recycle code they can send me? By the way time I send out a hard drive and get the code it may be too late. Thanks

Noise? I can handle the spin but not if it has a little man in there with a pickaxe.
Quiet in operation, but you might get some funky noises when the maintenance routines run like I experienced. See this long-ass thread going for years and multiple HDD models here: https://community.wd.com/t/strang...fax/226467

I'm in the process of returning my 18TB WD Red Pro and have just migrated over to an Ironwolf Pro and hoping it doesn't start making funky noises after every 24 hours uptime as well.

If you know a teacher who will go through validation for you, you can get 20% off at any time. Unfortunately it doesn't stack with "product discount" or "bundle discount", so unless WD makes a mistake in how they structure a discount you can't double dip.

New? Red pro? That is less than half price and an impossible benchmark.
