This CPU is in a weird spot. I'd suggest going either 9800x3d for gaming or 9950x3d for gaming/productivity. This one has only six x3d cores while the others have eight each.

I was a little bit disappointed with the 9800X3D. It runs too hot in my opinion.

It runs cooler which is nice for people who use an air cooler and don't want to hear their CPU fan rev up while doing light to medium load tasks.

I guess that makes sense to use the 9900x3d for ITX builds or air cooled PCs. I never go that route so it never crossed my mind.

Are you having thermal issues? The 9800x3d has better temps than just about any i9 from intel. Maybe try repasting it?
