I can get 17% cb but still not sure about it. I only do 1440 gaming and the only games I play are 2022 and before
Might just wait for 5070 Super and hope I can get MSRP the first month of release
I'm still running a 3080 10gb at 1440p and have yet to play a game that has any issues being playable. Naturally if I push hard with something like Cyberpunk it would slow down, but I don't play that game so it's moot.
Don't upgrade until you have to, then you'll get the most bang for your buck!
If anything, spend on an OLED monitor. Best upgrade I've made in years!

Im really struggling trying to decide whether i want to buy this card or wait for the 5080 super. Im on a 2080ti and i dont really play demanding games (Borderlands 4 being the exception) and at 1440p iv been pretty much fine. I recently bought a 9800x3d so i need to pair it with a more powerful gpu but since the super cards are around the corner making a decision has not been easy.

So you think if I am totally fine at the moment just waiting for a 5070S is smart?
I mean right now in my cart, I have this PNY 5070 OC and with my CB I basically am getting it for around $440
Again, newest games I care about are Hogwarts and Elden Ring, and I DO NOT play new games and do not plan to
I've been pulling for AMD recently, as they did a great job catching up at the mid tier with respect to MSRP vs performance, even in ray tracing, with nVidia, but if the trend of AMD remaining above MSRP and nVidia dropping below continues, then nVidia is going to eat AMD.

Elden Ring is capped at 60 FPS unless you only play offline and you mod the game. (you can be banned if you mod it and play online)
Unless you're playing at 4k with ray tracing you don't need to upgrade for Elden Ring, as 3080 gets 60 frames at 4k without ray tracing. I would check your current frames to verify and make a decision from there.
5070 is only 6.5% faster in Direct X 12 than 3080, according to Passmark benchmarks. Not worth 440$ in my eyes. (Elden Ring uses Direct X 12, and so does Hogwarts, so everything I've said likely applies to Hogwarts as well, though I have not searched it up)

Right now I have a 2070 Super and Ryzen 3600 so would have to build whole to system and get like a 7900X3D I think. I do not mind it, I plan new builds about every 4 years and considering I DO NOT want to play latest new games, kinda just want to get something now but that 5070 Super looks SOOOOO tempting and if it is $549 wow!

I think you're fine going for this. Just bought my kid a 5080FE only because his case won't accept a 3 slot PCIE bracket.Even if a 5070S arrives there's no guarantee it won't be inflated to hell and back for the Xmas season

They've always had top notch reference boards. Highly recommended.
