A few comments I skimmed here and on the linked Reddit threads mentioned if you had 2 or more free lines, you aren't eligible for this offer. I didn't feel like calling to bug them on something I'm 95% unlikely to qualify for ever, but I did load up my primary T-Life and don't see any offer or banner on the home page.
I've read so many horror stories about accidental changes being made to plans that messed up the discounts which were nightmares to get fixed I'm scared to do anything. I swapped from the old Internet to the Rely one to save $15 per month, and so far my bill seems to be correct. What was especially scary is when I log into my T-Mo account online (not using the app) it asks me to select which account to view. It shows 3 accounts all with the same account # and 2 of the 3 showed cancelled, but the active one seems correct. I don't know what the last person did on the switch to Rely to make those 2 cancelled accounts show up. If T-Mo were ever to have a theme song it should be ONJ's "Heart Attack" because of the line "You're giving me a heart attack" every time I open their site or view the bill expecting an error.
I noticed Hulu was added some time ago as a perk, but I haven't investigated that or the limit how much they will pay. My Netflix used to be free and now I pay several dollars to keep ad free. With the recent $3-$4 Disney bundle price increases, maybe I should switch to T-Mo's Hulu and drop D+, but I'd be sacrificing the $7 Amex discount.

8 or 9 lines is a lot more than I have, though I don't need all the lines I have. The extras are mainly useful for getting extra T-Life codes like free or discount fast food.
My understanding from past things I've read and talking to T-Mo reps was the price protection they claim to have from very old accounts doesn't actually exist because they changed the wording to say they can raise prices. AFAIK they just did it that one time and it only affected my 2 paid lines so my bill went up $10. I guess people fear if you're lucky enough to get a free line offer, adding another line could remove the exemption from future price increases though technically we don't have price protection.
The only actual price protection I'm aware of is the 5 year price protection on the latest home Internet plans. When I asked the rep before I switched from my grandfathered plan to Rely if I'm giving up my unlimited price protection for only 5 years, I was told "Price protection? You ain't got no stinkin' price protection!". OK, I'm joking. I was told my grandfathered plan doesn't have any price protection listed, so getting a 5 year one is better than the none I currently had.
The bottomline, which we all know, is that T-Mo's system, plans, pricing, and rules are so complex and convoluted, you never know what's going to happen. I'm amazed there are any reps there who understand the system. When you have something so restrictive and complex, it makes me wonder if T-Mo's billing system isn't running old C code in a MS-DOS shell under Windows. I doubt it, but they really should scrap their complex system and make it simple so we don't have to fear any changes, but then most of us would lose our discounts. I haven't heard that the other providers are any better. So I feel like I'm stuck at T-Mo not daring to make any more changes. It took a lot of time, research, and courage for me to make the switch to Rely to save $15. I called a few times until I reached a rep who spoke English without an accent who seemed confident. Reps whose accent is so thick I can't understand them don't inspire confidence in me.

Now I just got the free line offer today.
I know there are certain requirements like you can't cancel 90 days before or after, or something like that or you lose the promo.
Does anyone know if the canceling the Internet line affects the free line promo?
Regarding the free line promotion, here are the terms they told me:
This is one of our targeted offers, which means it is designed for our most valuable customers, and you are one of them, which is why you were offered it.
Additionally, your credits should begin within your first billing cycle after activation, but in some cases, it may take up to two billing cycles to start.
You will lose the free or discounted line credits if you cancel ANY voice lines on the account within one year, including the new free or discounted line. After one year, you must keep at least 2 paid voice lines along with the new free or discounted voice line activated under this promo to keep the free / discounted line credits.
If you cancel a voice line and lose your free/discounted line credits, you have 90 days to resume the canceled line or switch back to a family plan. You will not receive any credits that were missed.
Regarding cancelling T-Mobile Home Internet after you get a free voice line via promotion:
Me: I recently signed up for T-Mobile Home Internet a few days ago. I am testing it out. If I end up canceling my T-Mobile Home Internet, will this affect my free voice line promotions?
Rep: Correct, if you cancel our home internet service, it will not impact the voice line promotion since these two are different line types.
