Damn Hinge gate has me terrified to bite ESPECIALLY because based on previous SD threads, Allstate won't cover the hinge issue. Ashamed to say that if these were $20 less, I'd take the risk eventhough I dont have faith in the product. I've wanted these for over three years.
Is the hinge thing only XM5 and are XM6 as good sound-wise?
I've had great luck with secondipity for Sony refurbs, earbuds, headphones, and sound bar all delivered as if new but no Sony box.
I bought these WH-1000XM5 refurb from Secondipity in November 2022, used them daily for 2.5years, and had the hinge fail last month.
The current XM6 was a huge update not only in terms of features but in hardware and ergonomics, They went back to folding hinges and beefed up the plastics tremendously so imho theyre a lot better in every way than the XM5 was. The XM5 was a bit of a downgrade for everyone who had the XM4 & XM3.
