i've had mine for close to a year now. added a 2230 to 2280 adapter and installed a 4tb ssd. also added the extended 74w battery with an aluminum plate acting as a heat shield. i love it and can get 3.5 hrs playing AAA games. cost me about 625 all in (400 for my refurbed ally, 215 for an ssd, 5 for the adapter, 50 for the battery) and sold the 512gb ssd for 50.

I bought one couple of weeks ago. There was a corner chip which is fine but after about a week the joycon drift happened.

it's been lower from best buy open box, but this could be better if truly refurb.

but eBay refurb tag is meaningless and jusr mean they looked at it.

this could still have sd card issues and the like.

but the seller gives 30 day returns.

no clue how reliable the seller is and whether they would push back on a claim about a burnt card slot, or any of the other many issues that plague this model.

idk about this one, thoughts?

if the Nebraska Furniture Mart/BB price match deal comes back up, it is well worthwhile for a new one for $50 more. New warranty, plus credit card warranty.

SD card slot will definitely go kaput, it's a design flaw that you have to RMA to get the permanent fix, however the machine is a beast. The newer Z2E handheld consoles have bigger batteries and more performance at lower power, but their plugged in top end power is very close to this OG.

JSAUX sell as simple battery upgrade kit for about $80

with that you are set for a great PC handheld, just don't use the microSD slot, it will inevitably die and fry your MicroSD

the product isn't even out yet so hard to say.

Z2E(which is in the lenovo legion go 2) is marginally better than Z1E because its not a major step in gpu generation, just more 4 more CU (12CU RDNA3 to 16CU RDNA3.5). The difference between zen4 to zen5 cpu is also pretty marginal. While the Z2E is better, its not like double/triple the price better in the slightest (lenovo legion gos MSRP is very high)
