With really soft water, we've had to descale it once in 10 months. Make sure you complete the monthly cleaning that is recommended. Coffee grounds get into interesting places inside the machine.
If you spend too much of Starbucks this can definitely be worth the investment!

No return from De'Longhi?
Just simply pay $50 - $100 more for the model with the color touchscreen for a better experience. Even the Phillips 3200 appears to be simpler to use.
