The above said, I think most of us have read those articles on micro plastics, so a lot of people (including me) have been moving more and more to glassware vs plastic (where it makes sense at least -- my Brita is still very much plastic). Any plastic in the microwave, for ex, has been a big N-O for me. So, some of things I've discarded are those plastic microwave splatter covers. I now use a glass one... but those damn things are expensive (over $30, all from China, and not many deals). So, one idea with this set is that you can use that 1.5 qt glass lid as a mini splatter cover (should be around 8" in diameter for the 1.5 qt casserole bowl). You can also flip that pie dish over and use it as a cheap microwave plate cover (just an idea for those other guys out there that don't do much pie baking and might be looking for other uses).
Overall, it's a really good deal for what you get, esp given free shipping and being Made in USA.
