Read up on recent studies on black plastics before buying this or any others. We switched to Teakwood and it worked out well.

There's a bunch out there. Just search Amazon for "teakwood utensils".

Here's the one I did (12pk) which I've been happy with:

Apparently Teakwood is naturally sealed and resistant to temps up to / around 320°F where as black plastics go up to around 190°F.

As I understand it, it has natural oils from the wood, no artificial seals or coatings to leech off into dishes.

Yes, and it should be noted that the authors of the study still stand by their conclusions even if the levels are an order of magnitude lower. Still not good for you, just not as alarmingly bad as first reported. Sloppy science to be sure, at a time when we don't need to be drawing doubt toward actual scientific research. Unfortunately, when scientists make mistakes it emboldens morons to spout provably untrue claims. That's how you end up swimming in sewage discharge and eating undercooked roadkill.
