Thumbs up for a good hunting gear deal! Be aware that this is the older model if that matters to you. Still a good camera, but just not their latest technology.

I bought this at this price a few weeks back, this thing eats batteries compared to my previous Moultrie cellular. Definitely consider solar and/or external 12ah battery. At the very least use lithium AA's.

This is what I use for my 12v external setup. Great option to avoid the high cost of constantly buying batteries. Pair this cable with a plastic container and 12v battery from Amazon. https://www.herd360.com/products/...c450&_ss=r

Thanks for the suggestion, I've been looking at different 12v options.

I use a car battery on my cell cameras. It's not hard to find one that isn't reliable in a car for cheap or free. A old battery like this will give me almost an entire year without having to charge it. And I keep my cell cams in video mode always which takes way more juice than picture mode.

can someone recommend a trail cam that works well without cell function? I will be using it on my property just a short walk away from house.

I got this a couple of months ago on sale at Academy and I have been happy with it. I have used a bunch of other brands in the same price range, and this one takes good night/day pics and has good battery life.
