I used to try and buy puralator and other "better" filters, then I said f it and used the cheapest filter and the cheapest oil I can find, and skip filter replacement for every other change. My 150k truck is now at 260k, my accord was 30k and crushed at probably 100k, neither has oil related issues. Much time was wasted reading and researching about oils and filters. Now I don't even use the exact weight, what ever is close and on sale (my area doesn't freeze).
Am I correct to assume you do your oil change every 5,000? BTW, I'm surprised your accord gave in at 100k. My expectation for a Japanese car is at least 200k.

How often do you change oil? Do you use conventional oil? What filters do you use? Fram ?
260K is a good engine life. Hope you get many more miles.

Maybe Fram have gotten better? I'm sure there premium line is OK. But there was a time they were referred to as " the orange can of death"

No luck for my cars, but the 15,000 Mile filters are around half off so I snagged a couple of those.

Great price. I use the PBL22500 on our 5.7L Hemi. It's actually oversized compared to the stock filter.

Wix filters for my 2015 Accord are on sale for $9.89 on Amazon. They have been considered one of the best for years now. I'm 100% work from home and my car is in my garage most of the time. I want the engine to last as long as the paint which still looks like new after a good detailing.

Any oil filters that is name brand/sold at major retailer directly and fits. That's about it really. Fram, Super tech(walmart label), Wix, Purolater, etc.

I do my own oil changes, 245k on my toyota, not like that mileage is a shock or anything. 1 year or 10k miles, whichever comes first. Full synthetic. Many different brand filters.

Wix has fallen in QC pretty hard the last 1-3 years and is on a downward spiral unfortunately. Right now, the Premium Guard Inc. filters are the tops. (Microgard Select, Carquest Premium, STP XL depending on region)

I've ordered oil filters from Amazon about three times. They have all been shipped in a box with basically no packing. The flimsy oil filter boxes basically get destroyed during shipping. I think I'll just buy oil filters locally from now on or I'll make sure to add a few packs of socks and underwear to the order.

That's why I put find your filter Purolator in the post. This month for whatever reason there are a boatload of the Boss filters that are $8.
