These are the same as the Costco ones, so they fit together fine, but for whatever reason, the lids are noticeably thinner/weaker. just fyi

FYI - They change their mfgr for these all the time. What fits today may not fit with next spring's units. Even though model and SLU are the same.

home depot ones are better for the same price, best are the greenmade/costco ones

What makes the Costco ones better than Home Depot?

I own some from each company and was thinking about switching everything to Home Depot's version

Anyone else having problems with placing the order? Once placed it asks you to create an account or sign in and then when you sign in your account is locked so you have to reset password. Then it does the same thing after you order again.

Each box store works with the plastics manufacturers to determine pricing for bulk orders. Less plastic is less cost, more profit. Thinner plastics bend the lids and the plastic is much more prone to shattering in freezing temperatures. The quality of raw material can make a big difference as well. Honestly the manufacturer is not responsible for poorer quality. The stores decide what they want to spend. Every year things seem to change. You never really know which brand will be a better product. All you can do is read recent reviews and hope some fellow SD's give their first hand experiences.

someone already answered the question, but just from my experience lowes is low tier compared to homedepot in general. their moving/packing boxes are paper thin vs home depot, lids are thin as well

Costco and Office Max/Depot
--> GreenMade. Will stack with Lowe's Commander

Home Depot
--> HDX (made by Edge Plastics). Only stacks with each other

Lowe's
--> Commander (made by Centrex). Will stack with GreenMade

As far as which is best? It changes as the manufacturers make changes.
15 yrs ago, we went with the Commander ones from Lowe's. We will stick with those or Costco/Office Max/Depot ones since they are compatible. I like that you can get them from multiple retailers, vs HDX which is exclusive to Home Depot. But the HDX Home Depot ones tend to go on sale more often.

The Commander ones from Lowe's 15 yrs ago are much thicker than the Commander ones from Lowe's today though. But all of them are thinner now.

Home depot bins are not compatible with Costco's bin (not stackable, very slightly different size and design).
I exclusively use Home depot's bins because I do not have a Costco membership.
