The holy grail price for Jayo, Kingroon is $7 a 1kg spool. buy it at 8-9 if you need it, but buy it even if you don't need it when it's seven bucks.

Some interesting color by Eryone or Flashforge for cheap would be good. reg price for Eryone is kinda steep.

at least a couple reviews say even the normal 1kg rolls do not fit bambu ams fyi

This is absolutely not true. 90% of the filament I use is Sunlu or Jayo, and both of their spools fit just fine. I think part of their issue is that the spools can actually fit on the outside of the slots for the spools and you won't even notice it until it has issues pulling or retracting.
