I'm very tempted, but what I've read on the Web about their warranty and support really gives me pause. Seems like it's a coin flip.

It never hurts to do a comparison on pcpartpicker to see if its deal. If parts are not specified, choose a cheaper option for that part. Do a separate build with your bare minimum required for those parts. Compare prices and see if any price difference is worth your time in putting it together.

I used AI to search for better individual prices if you were to DIY. Here's the output:
SkyTech Gaming Custom Builder Price: $3,438.89

Best Individual Component Prices for DIY Build:

Core Components:
  1. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (8-core, 5.2GHz): $449 (Amazon)
  2. MSI PRO X870-P WIFI Motherboard: $239.99 (Newegg)
  3. Gigabyte RTX 5090 (32GB): ~$2,000 (MSRP at Best Buy)
  4. 64GB DDR5 RGB 5600MHz (2x32GB): $389.99 (Kingston, Newegg)
  5. Seasonic Vertex 1200W Gold PSU: $564.95 (Kogan)
  6. WD SN850X 4TB Gen4 SSD: ~$212 (best found deal)
Cooling & Case:
  1. CoolerMaster MasterLiquid 360 Atmos ARGB White: $130.98 (Newegg)
  2. Antec C8 Curve Wood Case (Prism 4): ~$149.99 (estimated based on similar cases)
  3. HY-P15 Thermal Paste (15.2 W/Mk): $7.41 (DHGate)
Software & Other:
  1. Windows 11 Home: ~$120 (typical retail price)
  2. Standard Build Fee: $0 (DIY - you do it yourself)
DIY Build Total: ~$3,314.32

Calculation Breakdown:
  • CPU: $449.00
  • Motherboard: $239.99
  • GPU: $2,000.00
  • RAM: $389.99
  • PSU: $564.95
  • Storage: $212.00
  • Cooler: $130.98
  • Case: $149.99
  • Thermal Paste: $7.41
  • Windows: $120.00
  • Subtotal: $3,264.31
  • Tax/Shipping: ~$50 (estimated)
  • Total: ~$3,314.32
Savings Analysis:

DIY Savings: ~$124.57 (3.6% savings)
However, this doesn't account for:
  • Time and effort for building, troubleshooting, and testing
  • Warranty coverage (SkyTech offers 1-year warranty)
  • Technical support (SkyTech provides support)
  • Quality assurance (SkyTech tests components)
  • Potential compatibility issues when mixing components
Recommendation:

While you can save about $125 by building it yourself, the SkyTech Gaming option provides:
  • Warranty coverage and technical support
  • Quality assurance and testing
  • Time savings (no assembly required)
  • Compatibility guarantee (all components tested together)
  • Professional build quality
Bottom Line: The SkyTech Gaming pre-built is reasonably priced considering the convenience, warranty, and support included. If you enjoy building PCs and want the challenge, DIY can save you a small amount, but the pre-built option offers better peace of mind.

I changed some of the parts but pretty much still a 9800X3D/5090/32GB build for about $2800 with codes and CB. Seems like too good of a deal to pass up?

I bought my first pre-built ever during the great Nvidia drought of late 2024. Hurt my soul but there just wasn't any other way to get a decent video card at the time so I went with this company. Similar-ish build to this but with a 7900xtx. I have no complaints on the quality of the build, shipping materials etc. other than the RGB header being unplugged. MSI motherboard, Geil RAM, Asrock OC 7900xtx were in my Montech case. The RGB is ridiculous, it looks like a strip club for clowns, I hate it.
