I got it at launch with the switch and my kids played it for a few hours and it remains unplayed since. Absolutely not remotely worth the $80 price tag. I'm hoping they provide more content free of charge to make up for it but it's Nintendo so they are gonna charge.
World was good fun, and if you go for the open world challenges and unlockables there is a ton of content. If that's not your thing then yeah I could see disappointment after 8 dx, but that was essentially two games. I still say MKWii is my favorite so far, but World has some of the best tracks in the series.
That said, with the Venmo coupon I finally bit on it. Thanks!
