Since someone always asks: This is a single player game, with a splash of multiplayer. The multiplayer aspect is that you can play as the girl who invades your game (normally done by an AI) and you can invade other people's games. Otherwise, this is a single player rogue-like. If you don't know what a rogue-like is, it's where your days rest and you lose just about everything you found in your previous run. There are ways to make powers and guns permanent, but it requires a lot of repetition. This game isn't for everyone. It's definitely overrated, too. Most gamers did not agree with the 10 out of 10 scores this game got from a bunch of critics. For me, it's an 8. It's definitely a fun/good game, but not the incredible game I was led to believe when it came out.

I don't know that I would call it a "Rogue-like". In most rogue-like games, random stuff happens(procedurally-generated) and you play until "death".

This is more of "Groundhog's Day" with Bill Murray as a video game with a strong Sci-Fi element.
You are playing the same level every playthrough. Everything: every NPC, item, etc is in the exact same spot(mostly). You also only have a "limited time". Technically there is no ticking clock, but you can only play time periods A-B-C and then it resets. Most rogue-likes can go endlessly until you just die (A-B-C-D-E....). They way you beat the game is you solve the multiple puzzles and the puzzles within puzzles.

Basically, this is a logic puzzle game with a "start over from beginning" twist. Its like the grid logic puzzles you used to do as a kid. I think a lot of the positive reviews were because of the novel gameplay ideas.

A great game that was over rated by reviewers, which caused a lot of people to under rate it after being disappointed it wasn't as good as the review scores suggest. In the end, it was still a really fun game.
