I happen to love these Mr. Beam nighlights. Sturdy, bright, moisture sealed, and square-bottomed so I could place on practically any flat surface without needing adhesives or screws.

I use rechargeable AAs and have decent runs in between charges. Battery life of course depends on how frequently the motion sensor gets triggered.

I bought the first set in 2017 (over 8 years!); none of these nightlights has failed or broken on me, despite having been kicked and dropped occasionally.

I've been waiting for it to go on sale... Thanks, OP!

Why? Short battery life?

I had a bunch of these in a hallway with no outlets. They serve their purpose in that environment, but man, they eat up batteries quick. And then when the battery is low, they just stay on at a low level (meaning no motion necessary), so then you have to swap out low, but not yet dead batteries early.

I paid 15.49 for this in January 2017 for what it's worth. I use them for the cabinets where our pots and pans stay, and they've worked well for my needs.

I have 8 of these and recommend them. I mean it's all depending on your use case. We use these above our doorways in each bathroom. Now we walk into the room and we get warm, soft, ambient lighting for middle of the night bathroom entries. We and our guests love it. Also nice on the kids' bunk bed staircase for when the upper person gets up and needs to see. Batteries last 1-2 years depending on use.

I have these sprinkled around the house and must be 15 years old now - great when navigating around in the dark when getting up in the middle of the night. Always use rechargeable AA's and have to recharge them every 1-2 months depending on whether the location has a lot of traffic or not.

These are great. I've had a set of three just like this for years on the stairs where there are no outlets. Good amount of light, but pointed down so they aren't blinding. Just have to swap out the batteries every few weeks, which made a great starter chore for the kids. I was sad when one took a particularly rough trip down the entire staircase and stopped working. The other two are chugging along despite many (shorter) tumbles down the stairs.

I prefer rechargeable motion lights. I use them in my hall, and have them facing up on stands (or boxes) from waist height so the cats don't set them off all night.

I've had these for quite a while now. I just recently decided no more. We use them on our steps and they go through batteries so fast. If I had rechargeable batteries that would be fine but I don't so I'm finally going to switch to something else.
