I'm trying to figure out why I need one of these! I don't think I have close to 6 devices in one area of my house that I need wifi control over. I keep hoping they will add a feature that will let you power it off, wait X seconds and power it back on without wifi (when using it to reboot a wifi router for example).

I have a handful of these as well as a few of the 3 outlet versions. I use them for automating simple things like light schedules for aquariums and reptiles. Also work great for hands free control over things on the aquarium for maintenance purposes.

You might not need wifi control over your VCR but knowing how much energy everything in your entertainment center is using is neat.

I got one of these for the christmas lights in the main room - the tree, the LED Rudolph and Charlie Brown stuff stuck on the big window, the string lights/strip around the window, etc. makes automating their on/off simple and reliable. And if i need to change something, it's quick and painless. Works well. I paid a few bucks less than this price at the time.

I just use a killawatt or something equivalent. So you can move it around and test things.

you may need this in case you have for example aquarium and need to run lot things connected to power and may not be having that many outlets.

I have plugs that do that. if you find a plug that works with smart things, it will turn on without wifi at the scheduled time.

this is what I have
