Moving parts break, they should never fold.

Anker is more of a well-known brand and even some of their compact higher-wattage chargers get scary hot when used at full power for extended periods. Not sure I would want something like this from Baseus.

You can make the actual device a little smaller and cheaper. I don't think I've unplugged the charger by my bed for a year. It's not that big of a deal sometimes.

I always unplug or disconnect my chargers from power source like switching off from a 6 outlet power strip when not in use. It reduces unnecessary charger wear and tear of constantly being in use and saves a little bit on electricity. The more powerful chargers get a little hot too so that isn't a charger I want constantly plugged in.

For portability, it is beneficial to have the folding prongs. I could throw it in a gym bag and not worry about the prong being damaged or scratching up other things like a phone. For home use, the folding prong is less needed especially if it is just laying next to all my other various chargers near my 6 outlet power strip.
  • It is true that folding prongs are more susceptible to breaking compared to fixed. Constantly flicking open and closed is more likely to damage the hinge mechanism than an accident with a fixed prong. Fixed prong can bend but it could probably be bent back.

Specs comparison with an Anker model on my list:

Anker 45w nano [amazon.com] (model A2692): 61g / 2.15 oz, 1.30 × 1.26 × 1.45 in (folding plug), 18-month warranty

BaseUS 45w (this item): 82g / 2.9 oz, 1.3 x 1.3 x 1.5 in (I believe that doesn't include the non-folding plug, so actual length would be around 2.2 in), 2-year warranty

I've seen the Anker charger go for $20 on sale and expect to see it for even less with Black Friday / Cyber Monday coming up. I'm willing to pay extra for a lighter charger with folding plugs, and Anker's good reputation. However, if you're on a tight budget and/or just want a compact 45w USB-C charger that "plays well with others" in an outlet/power strip, this seems like a good deal at $11.

About a week ago I picked up the double pack of Baseus 45w chargers that came with two USB C cables for $18.00. It wasnt the "PicoGo" as listed here, and I'm not really sure what the difference is. But just a heads up, there are better deals to be had.

These are perfectly fine for home use. The lack of folding prongs really doesnt come into play if its plugged in all the time....as inconvincible as that may be for some.

They only get hot if charging something...

You're not sure what the difference is, but "there are better deals to be had" ?
