This is a CL38 RAM. That is too slow for Ryzen 9000.

The ASUS Max series is just a rebranded ASUS Prime. it's got basically the same specs. The VRM is one of the worst out there but for a low TDP CPU like 9600x that shouldn't be a big deal.

Microcenter had a similar bundle that I think was on sale for $280 last week but now the closest bundle to this that I see in stock is $365.

Can anyone comment on whether the issue with more than 2 sticks of RAM has been fixed for these? I'm looking to swap in a new CPU and mobo for a NAS but it has high RAM needs and I keep seeing horror stories about AMD and 4 RAM channels.

per the Asus website this motherboard supports hdmi 4k 60hz. and DP1.4 8k 30hz. it does not sound like the motherboard translates to 4k 120hz. And even though the 9600x could try (so I read on hardforum, at least) I don't think I'd ask it to. I'd suggest that there are more capable mini PCs that are a little more balanced than the 9600x if you're not planning on adding a graphics card...
