I don't think there are any 4tb NVME in the 2230 size. this isn't a normal 2280.

The SN850X is a 2280 size NVME. This is a 2230, which fits in a lot of the new handheld gaming devices like the Steam Deck.

The larger 2280 won't fit in a Steam Deck.

Exactly this. 2230 size nvme drives always demand a premium over the physically larger size drives, and are often lower max storage amounts. No one's buying these just because they hate their money, most surface devices and many handheld gaming PCs won't fit anything else.
