There's one newer (12th) but I have no idea what the difference is. For new this seems good I need to buy one for my wife but I was going to wait for prime Day when it's been 20% off on those days. so it's around $128 but you can get 20% off if you trade in an old one.

It provides decent info on slight differences. Not really worth an upgrade to 12 if you own the 11. If buying for 1st time them go with 12. Otherwise, this is a good reader.

There's some genuine differences in the 12th Gen compared to previous, especially in the display which uses entirely new technology. The new one (oxide TFT based) has better contrast and looks a bit warmer and closer to actual paper vs the old ones, which skewed blue to purple especially if you turned the brightness up or had night mode on. It's also >25% faster turning pages, which is noticeable.

They don't advertise it as such, but the 32GB version is free of ads. It is the Paperwhite Signature edition.

Bought mine last Black Friday (kids edition with nice magnetic case) for around $111 shipped, including 20% trade in of old Alexa and 5% off card. I bought my wife's the previous Black Friday, same deal for $99 shipped before 5% back. This refurbished model with questionable battery is not a great deal. If you are willing to wait a bit you can probably snag a new one for an amount higher that I think is worth it.

This one is fine, but it's multiple generations behind, and there's a kindle event on Sept 30 that will announce even newer ones. IMO it's a bad deal--especially considering lock screen ads are included (and can no longer be removed easily by customer service)
