Take a look at any Calvin Klein ad. The clothes fit impecably. I enjoyed that experience for many years and CK was my default brand for undergarments. Something happened at CK. The brand that was known for a luxe product has fell short in every aspect. Across two different orders (different colors) I bought around 10 pairs of these. When they arrived I just cleaned out my dresser drawers and felt good in knowing I was set for a short while. The disappointment set in on day one after I got home from work. The underwear fit snug and contoured my body as expected at the beginning of the day. During the day I noticed the underwear riding up my leg. When I got home my nice new briefs looked like boxers. I thought it was a fluke. I put on another pair to sleep in. When I woke up the briefs looked like they were streched in some WWF wresting match. Yet another pair of boxers. This happened with all the CK undergarments. After the first wash they returned to semi normal shape but then they just give way during the course of the day. There is nothing unusual about my body build and they are sized properly. I reached out to CK to find out what happened to their quality control. They rebuffed my request by first saying they could not accept claims against a garment that was worn. Then they further insulted me by offering me a $20 credit towards my CK account. I don't even have a CK account. I told them to keep the money and use it to fund a proper Quality Control division. I was no longer gonna weak their moniker on my waist. I truly beleive I could have gone to any big box store and bought plain white Fruit of the Loom briefs and got better quality and service in the event of quality problems. Save yourself the frustration. If you want a luxe product this is no longer the brand you remember.
These cotton stretch are 95% cotton 5% elastane. Classic are 100% cotton.
Both good, just different preferences, but I like how cotton breathes better than synthetic materials.

Conversely I like the stretch and snug of the elastane, makes for good workout underwear

I'm more of an equal opportunist and like to have a mix of breathability on some days, and other days I feel that my package needs to be held and cuddled. The most important feature for me is having an escape hatch, because you never know....

You want a hatch in the back too?

Correct. Modern CK are trash. 2xist are SOOOO much better quality for less money. Obviously fit is subjective but quality isn't and if you compare the construction and materials, CK isn't in the same league as 2xist. My last CK order was about 5 years ago and 2 pairs came with the crotch seam already coming apart. A few other pairs got holes within 2 years. I ordered like 25 pairs of 2xist from a slickdeals post 2-3 years ago and to this day not a single pair has had problem and the shape integrity is holding way better than CK's ever did.
