That would be a TRRS connector, same as most Windows laptops have these days (and same as iPhones used to have, and many Android phones still do.) If you plug in a headset, it provides stereo out/mono in; it's also compatible with standalone speakers.

You are shiddn me? I haven't seen one home pc without the blue/red/green seperate inputs. I dont use lappy since the 90s cause they crappy (excluded is my current Dell broke the audio jack on end of service update or my Alienware which was top notch garbage an im not wanting people to laugh at me for buying; so *jedi hand wave* I never owned one ). But seriously everyone else is where I was 30 years ago trying to make computers the central part of their house. Using the audio in and out for home theather/recording/video streaming. Etc. I had no idea lappys use a trrs. Microsoft won't even put an equalizer or video player in their bloat ware. It still doesn't help me needing at least a line in an line out stereo to reduce my home studio footprint.
