I dont believe you have used the same cartridge 5+ years. I too reseal and rinse but change every 2 months as its too dirty to clean my razor. I use mine 3 times a week. You must shave once a month, if that.

Honestly, I don't think these are really worth it. I'm still using the original cartridge that came with my shaver, and it's been about 5–6 years now. The key is to take the cartridge out of the dock and reseal it to stop it from evaporating. I also rinse the head attachment after each shave before docking it. Works like new every time, and I'll only replace it once it's fully used up—unless I decide to go the DIY route and save some money.

I just continually add 91% iso alchohol until they get to bad, then I rinse and start again.

You're sharing this with the community like you've found a cheat code, when it's just a weird and gross hygiene habit that takes saving money too far
Do you spit mouthwash back into the bottle and keep reusing it until it's no longer green?

I don't get years out of my cartridges but have noticed a much longer life when only adding the cartidge when I want to clean my shaver. Sealing it back up betteen cleanings makes a difference.

The funny thing is, the container never really gets dirty. I manually clean and disinfect the shaver head with either vinegar or isopropyl alcohol before docking it, so the solution mainly serves to lubricate the blades rather than clean them. Since I don't rely on the dock to do the job it's designed for, the solution lasts much longer for me. YMMV.

I only shave once every two weeks, give or take as I don't grow that much facial hair as often as others.

Of course not, but fair enough—I get your point. To each their own. I haven't had any skin issues, and the solution still looks clean.

I tried the DIY method following the instructions I saw on YouTube, but the recharging station doesn't recognize it and won't try to clean the foil.

Great price for 10. I don't use my series 7 too often and the cartridge ends up drying up especially in summer time so I have to top the cartridge up with alcohol

I've used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0786YSZFN and they work well, but don't last as long as the OEMs. You need to use 90% isopropyl alcohol. They have a strong lemon scent while cleaning, but it doesn't stick around on the razor.
