I got it during the last deal and had low expectations. I have been pleasantly surprised. The writing experience is excellent - better than my iPad by a mile. I thought I'd rarely use the Scribe as an e-reader but now that my vision is getting worse as I age, I realize my small kindle screen (and having to "turn the page" every 20 seconds because my font is set so large) was limiting my enjoyment of books and ability to quickly read.
I have read 4 books on my Scribe over the past 8 weeks, more than I usually read in 5 or 6 months. Really a lovely device if you need the note writing capability and the large screen for aging eyes.

Don't forget the reminder that many of the features Amazon said were coming when they originally released the Scribe still haven't been delivered on. I've owned one for 2+ years and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I remember the July 4 sale being better too. It looks like with the Amazon Card and the extra 10% off you can get it down to about that price.

the previous deal was 32G + charger+ Folio cover for 251 dollar.

that said, the scribe has just about the best pen writing experience i ever had. the e-ink screen make it felt like real paper. and the latency is much improved. i have been using the galaxy and apple pen, but i think this is by far the best for note taking purpose.

I literally just found the first model one on clearance at target for 169.99. Came with the basic pen, 16gb. I think it was a good deal
