E.g., if you purchased $40 worth of K-Cups, and used $10 in points to help pay for it (for a net total of $30), you get $30 worth of points (6000 points),
So: don't use points to purchase these K-Cups, unless you're (for example) purchasing $60 worth (that you really need), and use $20 in points, so you get the $40 max in points.
What is the best way to use rewards, other than buying more stuff on Staples?
TIA
Honestly, no really good way of monetizing those rewards points. If you don't mind waiting until Black Friday (season), and you need a computer or electronics, you can use the points on some pretty decent deals (points don't expire, unless you take more than 18 months in between Staples transactions). Also, sometimes clearance items in the back yield some surprisingly good finds on anything from Bluetooth headsets to lunch ice packs. Lastly, Staples has a decent pricematching policy that allows you to go in-store and show them on your Amazon app (for example), "Hey, can you pricematch this item?" and then after the pricematch you can use your points to purchase it.
Plan is to double dip by funding the main purchase with points earned on items I can sell even if it's for half the out of pocket price.

100% back on batteries up to $100, then $50 (some of the previous offers)
100% back on K-Cups up to $50, then $40
100% back on Sharpie up to $40
100% back on Post-Its up to $40
100% back on paper (was that limit up to $100? $120? I've forgotten)

What will one do with so much rewards from buying overpriced luggage?
Buy next overpriced item?
