It's only $16.99 for me personally. I really don't need another keyboard, but it is very tempting at this price!

Yeah $18 and change after tax. Hard to say no for that price. Now won't have to use work keyboard for gaming.

Anyone know the type of switch? It says "gaming switch" so can I assume a RED type one? I was hoping for brown but at this price hard to pick up another keyboard to add to the collection.

If it were a mechanical keyboard, they would have screamed it out in every single line on the item page... lol

Just a cheap keyboard with colored lights. Probably fine if you need one, but not a great deal.

It also feels terrible. I had one for $10 on a Dell mistake a few years ago.

I bought this keyboard about 3 months ago, because I liked the layout and volume knob. It was a great deal at $34, but it was absolute rubbish. I've never had a keyboard that flat-out stopped working multiple times in a day. Needless to say, I returned it almost immediately. I bought another RAZER Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless, which was already working great on my wife's computer. I couldn't be happier with that. The sad part is they don't make it anymore, but sometimes there's still new units for sale eBay.

People are saying this is trash but I cannot recommend making the extremely affordable jump to mechanical keyboards if you have been using "normal" keyboards. The difference is immense. Even a $25 redragon mechanical cheapie is huge jump up from what I had been using beforehand. Your typing speed will go up, your performance in games will improve, your happiness will improve, etc.. The prices of mechanical keyboards has come down so far. I really regret not discovering them earlier in my life.

DO NOT BUY THIS TRASH.

SteelSeries Apex 3
SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL

Keyboard type: Membrane
Keycaps: The keycap uses a completely different socket type. You cannot replace this keycap with commonly sold keycaps. Replaceable versions are not sold.

The keycaps on this keyboard aren't solid black plastic. They're made of translucent white plastic with black paint on top. So after a short time, the paint wears off on the frequently used keys. It's a garbage keyboard. Imagine a thief steals a 10 year old keyboard from someone's house, drops it while escaping, and someone else picks it up. That's what this is like.

RGB: The RGB feature is completely different from other RGB keyboards. You can only assign colors to fixed vertical zones. Even the colors themselves look like something out of a children's toy.

Overall: Cheaply made garbage.

This is a great keyboard; gamer or not, it's fabulous. Definitely worth the $18. Better than the other regular keyboards for the same price.

I have the Apex 3 and have been beating the heck out of it for over 5 years now. Unless their quality has dropped immensely, anyone who realizes what they're buying (membrane keyboard) will enjoy it. I personally don't like the TKL version (too many years using a 10-key), but the membrane is good for someone like me who occasionally spills something on their keyboard.
That being said, if you've already gotten semi-addicted to a mechanical keyboard you'll probably hate it. I'm not a serious high-level gamer so I don't "need" a mechanical keyboard.
