Not sure. But there was definitely a viral person online touting how they were buying and returning heavy items "free" thinking somehow that sticks it to the man. This might be the actual effect of that?

I've seen "final sale" on several other items on Amazon. Nothing to do with weight. Item on my end shows seller as Amazon. Some times Amazon and 3rd party sellers need to clear out inventory. Often they do it on Woot. Now it seems they are some times doing it directly on Amazon. I think you are still eligible for refund if item is defective or damaged.
