Thanks OP. Picked one up. It is to my ears, half the noise of my previous Ryobi and more powerful to boot. Also heavier, so a tradeoff. With this, dont need ear protection whereas the older non-brushless version made enough noise that it was marginal without ear protection as long as you used it for a short time. That in itself is worth it.

thank you op! picked one up.
quieter and more powerful than my previous brushed version. As someone else mentioned, the brushed version had a high pitch which was borderline requiring ear protection, this one doesn't require it imo.

Went to a store further away as the one closest to me that did not have it in stock. It was not displayed out of the 3 or 4 18v options. Had to get it from the shelves above. Was only discounted to $112 though. Damn! Bought it anyway. I will think about it and maybe if convenient check other stores.

I agree. This one is significantly more quiet than any previous (non Whisper series) blowers I've used from Ryobi or any other brand for that matter. I'm thinking of buying a 2nd one as a backup because this works so well and is so quiet, I can use it in my backyard near the bedroom windows and still not wake up anyone inside most of the time. I prefer the wider airflow of this one vs the very narrow higher speed airflow of some other models because I just need to blow thin layers of leaves, sawdust, or dirt off the concrete. I'd guess the higher airspeed versions with more concentrated airflow that are louder are probably better for dislodging big leaf piles or clumps.

I picked this up today for $80 in the Houston area. I just had to select a location on the website where it said this item was on clearance, drove down to HD, and asked an associate to locate it for me. Great deal for such a powerful blower!

I got one one clearance near me, but it was $112. I figured I'd try it out based on all the comments on how quiet it was. Wow...did not disappoint. It's bigger and heavier than my previous one, but it's waaaay quieter and the variable speed trigger makes controlling the leaves a "breeze" (sorry, can't help myself). $80 would have been nicer, but this is a great blower for my front yard and patio.
