don't be mistaken. Microsoft is making money, and they're not going anywhere. But the Xbox division is hurting bad.

I already had over 2 years of stacked Ultimate on my account. I bought some xbox 3 month core passes from Eneba to get close to 3 years. Comes out to about $16.60 of ultimate per month.

Will Xbox even be around in 3 years?? laugh out loud

For non current subscribers, i think the wise move is only get 1 month at a time to catch up on the xbox catalog when needed. $360 a year is absurd now.

At this point I just do monthly trials with a new email whenever I wanna play which isn't often. Might grab this deal tho in case I wanna just play straight through for a couple months.

Funny how you get people making comments like this that want to frame Xbox in a certain positive way -- but they ignore the huge $69 BILLION price tag they had to pay to buy Activision (not to mention the other acquisitions). They are currently digging themselves out of a hole they made, which is likely the reason for this price hike on Game Pass. THAT is the current situation.

Are they though? I know Microsoft is betting big into AI like every other tech player out there. However, I honestly haven't seen anyone on the consumer side paying for their AI products.

Sure, they'll advertise Copilot 24/7, but most people stay at the free/lowest tiers of ChatGPT/Copilot/Grok. AI's cranking out better and better generative-slop novelties but no must-have killer apps.

I will definitely admit that AI is still a killer buzzword when attracting blind investments though. Not sure why a litterbox needs AI, but one can certainly get funding for it!

$20/m is no longer a big deal anymore. Amazing how fast inflation and better wages can quickly change our perception on value of a dollar. Well, the dollar is going away too soon at the way we're heading.
