If it had been a 5070 it would've been slick.

This is bottom of the barrel display, 144Hz, 300-nits, 45% NTSC, commonly found on sub-$700-800 gaming laptops.
Well looking at this deal, not much of a deal I agree this should be the price for this item brand new and not open box. Also looking at the screen specs very meh for a 2k display. The only deal here is the CPU which probably will get throttled, I have not seen burn in tests to say for sure, and also the ram amount, outside of that everything else is meh.

With the 5090 he had to have been on an Omen Max, I don't think there is an Omen with anything over a 5070 or 5070ti? And in that case he PROBABLY had either a higher end IPS or the OLED... Cause yeah this screen is basically as cheap as they get in this price range.
The thing I have noticed with cheaper laptops is that the screen often is the first thing to get a crappy version.

Great screen, though I returned my 5090 version after being disappointed with 5090 laptop GPU
Great screen?? Either you're joking or you're clueless.

Not to mention, no VRR in nvidia GPU only mode. I know cuz I checked for this at Microcenter on their version of this same laptop.
The 5060 mobile is only 8GB so it will hold it back a bit, and the display while being high-res is not color accurate at 62.5% srgb. I think if it was new or you get a unit that looks like new then it would be a good deal.
