These are perfect for trying to loosen a tight bolt and then have the tool break sending all the hex keys flying

Has that really ever happened? I have a couple of these laying around the house. I have torqued them to the point of bending, but never pushed them further than that.

Yes, read the one star reviews. Every set I have ever had like that breaks, all brands. Only T handles or regular L shaped keys for me.
