I own this, bought it on a "hack" for around $100. For $50 it's a no-brainer if this style is practical for your home. I know no one asked, but some review points off the top of my head:
--Brush roll comes out easy to get tangles off, picks up cat hair well on carpet and bare floor. Bright led lights really let you see the stuff on the ground.
-Seems quiet to me for a vacuum, maybe because it's a brushless motor? "Eco" mode is probably okay on hard floors; I've never used it because I have a lot of Ryobi batteries so conserving battery isn't a big deal.
-Handle is not the most ergonomic, but fine if you're using it for intended purpose of quick pickups.
-Stands up on its own for storage, but it says in the manual that you shouldn't do that with a battery attached because it's too top heavy. It does have a fairly flimsy wall mount included that I haven't used.
-Complaint: When used in the kitchen, stuff at the base of the cabinets (other than hair) has to be picked up with the crevice attachment or swept up, the main brushed powerhead just doesn't have good edge suction from the very front or the sides.
-Remember that cordless vacs usually have fairly small capacity and should not be your main vacuum, unless you have mostly bare floors and no pets. Also, cleaning out dust cups can be messy, so try to do it outside. Cat hair typically gets stuck in this dust cup around the inner tube and requires a screwdriver or knife to dislodge as it's too light to fall out on its own, but that's a minor inconvenience. Also, the HEPA filter should be replaced now and then on this and all vacs that have one; it's not a lifetime item.
-The fact that this uses a widely available battery that you may already have, and is made by the same parent company as Hoover means that this is pretty good bang for the buck. I don't understand paying Dyson prices for something that is meant for quick pick ups.

How does this compare with the Dyson V8?
How long does it last on PBP002 (1.5Ah) or PBP003 (2Ah)

If anyone is needing help finding who may have it on sale, when on the product page, click 'check nearby stores" and if any store has the clearance sticker, close that window and go to the top left and change your location to that store then see the clearance price. (desktop users, mobile users need to figure it out themselves).
Near me, one location was $179 and the other was $100. Nothing close to $50.

1) how do I know it's on clearance. I was at the HD yesterday and saw this vaccum but it was had a sticker price on the shelf at$199.
2) is this vaccum the same as the Whisper quiet version or is the Whisper version noticeably different (ie quieter and better) than this version?
thanks
Also, how would this compared to rigid shopvac like this battery powered one?
