You're right that their search and indexing tech is proprietary. My "middleman" comment was referring only to the final generation model (GPT-4, Claude, etc.), which is sourced from other providers (plus their own internal Sonar model).
My preference is to use the synthesis models directly, but I concede that calling the entire service a "middleman" wasn't entirely accurate.

It's still a bit pricey at $240 annually compared to Gemini at the same price which gives a bunch more including coverage for my Nest cameras, but I'm seriously considering keeping it.
_________
Access after canceling:
When you cancel, the subscription is set to stop renewing at the end of your current billing cycle (monthly or annual).
You keep Pro features and remaining usage until that cycle ends; access does not usually stop immediately unless a refund fully reverses the purchase.
Timing and refunds
If you cancel well before the next renewal date, it will not renew again, and you simply use the remaining paid time.
Refund options depend on region and plan type, with specific windows (for example, short refund windows for monthly vs annual and extended windows in the EU/UK/Turkey and South Korea).
If you want, share whether you subscribed via web, iOS, or Android, and what country you're in, and a tailored step-by-step can be outlined for your exact case.

I'm on a year trial from T-Mobile in Croatia (long story). Is it possible to stack the Venmo/PayPal offer if I'm already on one?
