Couldn't resist picking up a different Indio. Got one years ago for about the same price and I have had zero complaints for a $60 delivered to my door guitar. Trying to get my kids to pick it up more often but worst case is it gets donated to the local school for their annual instrument drive.

Got one for around this price a couple years ago. These are totally solid guitars, on par with Fender Squires. I would highly recommend this if you ever wanted to play guitar.

Thinking to purchase this as gift for someone who has knowledge about music (play other instruments), but don't play guitar. can someone please advise if this is okay, or waste of money? Thank you.

Provided it can be tuned and stay in tune. If so, just get the guitar into their hands and they'll find out if they want to keep going or not! Well worth the risk.

these are decent upgrade platforms. the body of mine was nice, the neck needed some work to address fret sprout.

if the supplier is the same as 2019, they should have a swimming pool route (allowing you to switch pickup configurations) and be able to take some standard fender part upgrades, including the 2 1/16 spacing bridge that runs in the $20-25 range.

tuners and nut were just average, so I would upgrade those to improve tuning stability.

Absolute beginners may start with ukuleles before moving on to guitars to build up some callus and learn basic chords, strumming etc. I do like electric guitars, and not acoustics, especially Strat clones as a first guitar for better comfort and a little more ease in playability.

started learning on this same guitar (I knew NOTHING about guitars at the time about 1.5 years ago. Its been a great guitar to learn on, holds a tune just fine and sounds fine with a decent amp. You wont find anything close to as good at this price - even used. I ended up buying a second to keep in a different room. Only thing I would recommend doing sooner than later is changing the strings - though I used the stock ones for several months before one broke. The new elixir strings I put on sound and feel much better than the stock ones.

Not according to the snobs on SD most days. They'll be screaming "just spend A FeW MoRe dollars" then suggest something that costs 10-20x.

I had to spend $100 to get the frets leveled on one of my Indio guitars. Another one was OK

I couldn't resist getting another, even though I certainly don't need one.

The three I bought have been excellent out of the box, and I have the experience to know good from bad. I've fixed dozens of garage sale, thrift shop and pawn shop guitars; electric, bass and acoustic.

With a cheap clip on digital tuner, I loan them out to people who want to try playing guitar.

My son got one of these a few years ago as his first guitar. He definitely enjoyed playing it and it was great to start. Now that he has other options he doesn't pick it up. Had some issues with the output jack getting loose but it was otherwise fine construction.

That's a great idea! I haven't personally tried one of these but they are well regarded. As a bass player I am tempted to.
