Thinking to purchase this as gift for someone who has knowledge about music (play other instruments), but don't play guitar. can someone please advise if this is okay, or waste of money? Thank you.
This is a good purchase as a first guitar. I advise you purchase a wide and well cushioned strap (appx $20) so they can get used to the weight. My view is always they should start on a small body nylon guitar for many reasons, but I'm sure all the internet Karen's will now hound me with replies. So just get the strap.
These are excellent guitars. Indio Tele was my first guitar and since then I have added 6 more and I still like playing my tele. I replaced the nut with a Tusq nut and now its even better.
please don't ask if this is a good choice for a beginner cuz any piece of s*** guitar is good for a beginner
This is wrong. A poor experience will discourage people from learning. Plenty of cheap guitars offer a poor experience.Fortunately, this is a great beginner guitar. Intonation, neck, and tuners are great for the $. Setup from the factory is good enough. Probably want new strings. Frets don't cut into your hands.
This (or the telecaster) is the guitar I recommend to people just starting.
I'm in the market for a cheapo guitar to mess around with while bored. How's the sound?Does it stay in tune? Thanks.
As far as sound goes, I would watch a YouTube vid or two on the basic pickup types, like single-coil vs humbucker, and topics like coil splitting. That will give you some idea of what you prefer. This guitar uses a typical Strat-type configuration, with three single-coil pickups.
Beyond that, as long as the pickups are decent quality (not noisy or microphonic), the differences in sound from one electric (not acoustic) guitar to the next are pretty small, more for those chasing the last bit of refinement in their tone.

In my experience, most tuners can hold a tune just fine, and the problem is the nut. Applying Big Bends Nut Sauce or any of the modern equivalents works wonders for keeping cheapo beater guitars in tune.

Now what kind of cable do we need to buy for Rocksmith 2014 on PC?

probably fine for learning basics
My indio electric guitars have adequate tuning stability. Better than my vintage guitar with worn out tuners.
Most of the tone comes from the amp and speaker...
