For anyone wondering how this deal works out if you have an existing GPU account - you end up paying about $24 a month for 10.5 months (if you have to buy the Sam's Club membership which is $25 minimum).
If you have a Sam's Club membership already, this goes down to around $22 a month. This whole price hike just blows.

the conversion is less if you have an existing subscription.

It looks like MS just reduced the conversion rates again. It used to be 3:2 (or 66.67%), then was 2:1 (or 50%) and is now just 40%. BOOOOOOOOO!

My game pass expires in August of 2026, can I use this deal to stack more?

The year/12 months core equates to 91 days of ultimate if adding to existing game pass ultimate

Rediculous, but it beats $90 for 90 days of GPU! 😡

Ugh, the conversion when you're already on Ultimate is 25% I only got 3 months with the 1 year core plan.

OP mentioned stack core to 42 months before converting but from what I'm reading you can only do 36 months. So with no current subscription the best deal seems to be to stack 36 months of core as cheaply as possible and then pay $30 for a 1 month of ultimate that will convert everything over ? If so im guessing it's not worth using the even worse conversion rate post convert to stack ult maxed out to 36 months?
Or pay $11 for 1 month ultimate from Kinguin

I just loaded my GP Ultimate back to 3 years for about $8.68/month using digital cards purchased from Eneba (https://www.eneba.com/xbox-xbox-g...b-emirates) that were only valid in the Middle East + a VPN located in Dubai for activating against my account. YMMV

FYI you CAN purchase more than 2 12 month codes with your membership. I bought two 12 month codes wednesday for a friend and bought a third code for him today. Comes out to $11.50 per month for 14 months. Also you cannot stack more than 12 months of core from cheap countries like Turkey, Mexico, Argentina, etc. You CAN stack up to 3yrs of ultimate using GPU codes from those countries but MS seems to be cracking down on VPN codes. I bought a game a couple weeks ago with no issue. Last week I bought a game and used a VPN and MS said I was not in the correct region. I then switched to a "streaming" VPN and was able to redeem. So YMMV
I am sorry but what is a "Streaming" VPN? Who did you use?
Yeah my question as well, thanks

This is surprising! Definitely YMMV as they locked down cross region activation via VPN a few months ago and I hadn't heard of a workaround when I was digging for one the other day. You supposedly can only redeem regional codes based on the home region associated with the account, not IP. This only applies to Game Pass code, game codes still follow previous rules.

Definitely YMMV, but I might give it a shot. Going to keep an eye out if anyone else has success with this specific VPN.

1 month Ultimate codes are usually "trials" and aren't stackable. With the VPN workaround for cross-region redemption blocked*, the cheapest I could find across the key resellers (Loaded, G2A, Eneba, and now Kinguin) was about ~$14/month via the 3 month core/essential codes. This is with an existing subscription, so the conversion rate of the 12 month codes are terrible (25%).

Gotta be careful on these resellers now, as after they blocked the VPN workaround everyone sitting on these keys switched to selling full accounts. Almost pulled the trigger on what I thought was a good deal, but luckily read the fine print.

*Some people here are reporting cross-region redemption success with specific VPNs, which is going to be the cheapest route if it works.

So, I could use advice from someone who uses Gamepass.

I don't own this generation of Xbox, but I do have a Steam Deck. Would I be able to do cloud gaming with Gamepass Ultimate on my Steam Deck? Possibly play multiplayer games with anticheat (Destiny, CoD)? Lastly, most importantly, how much do you feel you have to play to get your money's worth?

I bought a one month code from kinguin that wasn't a trial. Yes they aren't stackable on themselves but if you add the core first it will activate on it and convert

I wasn't sure it would work either... so I tested a single $8 purchase before investing in a larger bulk purchase on Eneba. I did go into my Microsoft account before starting and change my region to UAE roughly 30 minutes before my first test activation. When I was done, I reset my Microsoft region back to USA.

I also, had to turn VPN off while purchasing on Eneba. If I had VPN on the payment failed. After I received the codes I turned VPN back on and activated via the Microsoft/Xbox website activation. If UAE codes go out of stock, there is another product for Middle East activation that works for UAE as well for the same price.
