today I'm taking down all the blink equipment that worked for 2 weeks after last October sale and then quit. Installed properly, it required reset after 2 weeks on the job. Getting the ladder out too. What a pain for cameras that require manual reset.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a suggestion for one that has local storage? I need outdoor camera(s) for my sister's townhouse since people have been stealing parts off cars in her area.

Hoping the sync xr module goes down in price to get better signal around the house, its worth the $120 a year for ten cameras with cloud storage.

Everything is being pushed to subscriptions. Hate it.

Any idea if the new cameras are compatible with the older sync module that has local storage?

Take a look at Wyze Cams. The latest wired cam is V4 with microSD card slot. No subscription needed when recording to MicroSD and app is free to use. Not all their camera models come with MicroSD. I have 34 of their wired V3 cams (outside, garage, interior and attic) and one doorbell (original). Only had one camera fail me in some three plus years. Using cheap Microcenter branded MicroSD cards in most. Had a few cards fail over the years, but far cheaper than spending on endurance rated cards.
Edit: Roku sells rebranded Wyze Cams. I'm unsure if a sub is needed when using a MicroSD card.

The sync module core come with this package didn't have SD card slot for local storage, but the current latest sync module XR do, you can save videos locally without subscription service

I have the XR module and it's not worth it. You are limited to two cameras on extended range. There are three modes, wifi, extended range, and extended range plus. Extended range plus Lowers resolution the most and cuts off bidirectional sound. You have to choose between XR and XR plus for your two cameras on extended range. You cannot have one on XR and one on XR+.I did not try XR plus, just XR. for both of my cameras I got more reliable service with the weak WiFi signal than XR mode, so I'm using WiFi for everything, anyway.

i think its cheaper if you buy the yearly plus now or atleast they are offering it for 100 for the year with unlimited devices.

Just in case anyone else runs into this, I kept getting "device not supported" when trying to add the doorbell cam. Called support. They were stumped too. I checked the app store, (android) app was up to date. Then I searched the appstore for blink and there was a blink home app with a different icon. I installed that and everything worked after that. I'm not sure why the play store didn't see it as an update, maybe because they renamed the app. Either way if you run into this, try searching for the blink app in the play store and installing it if it's an option. It will replace the existing app you have but for whatever reason it won't alert that the existing app has an update. At least it wouldn't for me.
