I have the Max version and love it.
One thing to point out that's important... The backlight on the buttons stops working when the battery drops to 50% or less. It's a bit concerning at first, but it's mentioned in the manual. Charging back above 50% will bring the backlight back.

Palm unlocking is super unreliable. I returned and got a fingerprint lock instead.

Not sure how anyone buys a lock in 2025 that doesn't have auto-unlock (which this seems to lack).

Not many locks have a feature that works consistently? The best is Bluetooth which is ok. When Schlage comes out with their uwb lock then maybe...

So let me see.. if I taken a picture of the owners palms, then use it to scan. Will it open?

Exactly, especially this one can be keyless so the accidental lock out can be easily resolved.

No, the sensor actually records an imprint of your hand's veinous structure so a picture wouldn't work.

Auto-unlock is incredibly unreliable and usually requires your phone to run the app in the background. Currently palm unlock is as close to a frictionless experience you can get, next to something like the lockly visage and its face unlock which is even more seamless.

Could I use the veins from any part of my body?

Just palms because it would be impractical to mount the lock at knee height.

Not required, but it would allow for storing the camera footage on the base locally instead of on the lock or in the cloud in case you're worried someone might try to steal or damage the lock.

Frequently returned item... maybe people buy it as a novelty that wears off quickly at $300, or maybe, just maybe, not everyone wants to invest in Chinese owned company?

hmmm...folks returning a $300 item cuz they dont want to invest in a Chinese owned company?Have you heard of a company called BYD? The stuff they sell is a lot more than $300 and the rest of the world want more of it.

the thing that bothers me with these door unlock units (across all brands) is that you have to constantly remember to charge them up. I'm surprised no company has come up with a solar attachment or hardwire solution.
