I hate my eufy. they are fine for a casual camera but they are no replacement for a true home security camera system. the one time I needed footage of someone in my backyard it didn't capture it.

I purchased the Eufy S340 with the homebase 3 a couple of months ago and then later augmented with an e30 as well.
Positives are that installation was super simple with the solar charging working as advertised and keeps the camera charged upto 97%. So far so good. People tracking also works reasonably well.
The App is bare bones to say the least. The s340 has a spotlight camera feature that I would like to turn on only at night-time at a specific time but the App provides no capability for this simple scheduling feature. We are having some issues with deers at night eating our plants in the front yard. The camera paired with the Homebase AI can detect it as a Pet but no option to trigger audio alerts as per night schedules. The low light recording of the camera is pretty bad at night even with IR on and in videos with any simple motion there is so much ghosting and people/deers seem to be magically transported across the frame.
I have vehicle detection turned off as we get decent cross traffic of vehicles during the day. However, motion is always turned on automatically at night and no way to turn off those vehicle detection recordings.
At this point I feel like the camera is more of a deterrent then banking on it for any real recording and forensics especially for night time incidents.

FYI, the S340 cannot do continuous recording (yet). Maybe Eufy will push a firmware update for this feature given this is their current flagship camera. The lower E30 and the newer E42 can both do continuous 24/7 recording if you plug the camera into power instead of solar charging.

Mounting issue.
I doubt it's a mounting issue. I have one in my front driveway and some days it captures 100+ events other days it captures 0. It's seemingly completely random. This can be two sunny cloudless days in a row and it's at full battery. I have the 4K LTE camera connected to a homebase. The "end early" part of recording never works properly so I just have to set a really long record time and hope it captures everything, if it triggers at all. I have a super old 24/7 static camera next to it but I really wish the Eufy worked well because the image is so much better. I remember one time FedEx walked straight down my driveway, launched a package at my door, and drove away. The Eufy only recorded the back of the truck.... Watching the old cameras footage I was baffled how Eufy didn't record anything. I also have the super expensive doorbell/lock/camera and it's even worse.
Picture is bait and switch for this price. Also, this isn't a slickdeal. Costco has them for cheaper. I personally did the costco bundle for the S340 + doorbell for $199.

I doubt it will ever do continuous recording as it doesn't have a wired option. The S340 looks great, but continuous recording is such a practical feature I had to cross if off my wish list. There are times when my Eufy solar cams don't detect motion, but I still want to see what happened at a specific time.

I mean, obviously it won't be as good as an actual home security camera system.
These work great for a quick-and-easy solution that you can setup within an hour.
