I see a lot of reviews saying they have all kinds of issues but for $30, is it worth finding out?
I think the fact they are clearing them out for $30 tells you all you need to know about the problems JBL has had with these buds. It's a crap shoot for $30 to hope you don't get a defective pair.

Running an noise cancelling? Personally I want to hear the truck coming before i feel it!
Worst case you're out maybe 20 minutes of total time to file a support ticket + packing the device for shipping. Just keep the original shipping box to save yourself the issue of needing to find a new box to ship it all back should you encounter any issues.
