Yeah, but the weights moving on the bar will likely destroy any attempt at proper form.

I would recommend avoiding this and getting the Olympic (2 inch) barbell. the 2 inch plates seem to be more dynamic in my opinion

Depends on if your preacher is straight!

I can't believe there's still a market for 1", they're getting rare now that the fitness world (and home gyms) has mostly switched to the Olympic standard 2". But if you have these plates, I can say I've got a lot of Yes4All gear and it definitely punches above its weight class.

If you need to switch weights those screw locks will get annoying quickly. I would get clamp style. This one is $20

You can also buy adapters. But the native 2" ones, well some of them, like the one you linked, have bearings in the weight holder ends so they can freely spin independent of the center portion of the bar. 1" bars don't have this, or at least I havent seen one. This is helpful with things like curls because if the friction of your plate doesn't allow it to turn freely with the rotation it can feel awkward vs when the plates just stay in the same position throughout the motion.

Weights are heavy and you can hurt yourself if you try to lift more than you are ready for! Also eat your vegetables! I figure since we are giving each other unsolicited advice I would join in. See I was answering a question someone else asked, how did you interpret that as this guy wants me to explain to him how weights work?
