Just info for comparison- no thumbs-down or threadcrap from me. I got the AVAPOW deal a few weeks ago, for under $30 all-in. it seems to have all the features this one has, plus being IP-certified water resistant. the AVAPOW is rated 2500A peak, but says it's rated for 8L engines, where this one is listed at 2000A for up to 10L.
I've been using mine to charge my phone tirelessly, and used it once to jump-start a 6-cyl with completely-drained battery, and it performed perfectly.
The deal factor in this item might be for the name-brand.

I had the Schumacher SL1 and it lasted 1 year before battery started swelling and busted the case. Now I did get it on sale for $25 so really wasn't a big loss but you would think a Schumacher would of lasted a little longer.

At the risk of sounding stupid, did I see where if left in your hot car, it can degrade the battery? Also, can they get hot and possibly catch on fire?

Yes, basically avoiding leaving any type of battery in your car, especially lithium.
