I was dead-set on buying this one to replace it, but ultimately went for the CleanBlend. Per Wirecutter it makes even smoother smoothies (which is all I use mine for) and is $200 less. Warranty was a couple years shorter but I figured at the lower price it was worth it.
But if you're dead-set on Vitamix/Breville/Blendtec, I'd strongly urge you to keep looking hard at the 5200. The biggest thing I noticed with my Vitamix (which wasn't the 5200, and had the shorter jar) was that thicker smoothies tended to create an air pocket at the bottom such that you had to fight to make it blend. I understand that the tall, narrow jar is much better generally (at the expense of not fitting under 18" cabinets). (And even if you have to use the plunger stick, it works better with the narrow bottom.) Frankly if the verticality is an issue I'd just store the jar next to the base and pull the base out when in use.

The 32 oz container has the same 3" blade and narrow bottom as the tall 64 oz container without the height problem. Low wide containers use a 4" blade and it handles certain tasks better than the 3". Most versatile combination fo my needs is: 7500 + 32 oz + 64 oz low wide. YMMV.
IDKW Vitamix does not recommend the 64 oz tall on the 7500, pp report that it works fine. If you must have the 64 tall then buy the 5200.
The key to successful blending with any Vitamix is proper loading and use of the tamper and ramping up to full speed quickly in most cases. Vitamix has great tips and recipes With a little practice one learns how to overcome the air pocket issue with thick blends.
Can't speak to quality of newer ones though.
I personally think this is a good deal.
Hands on experience is the only way to get a good fit. Vitamix offers a free 30 day trial and free returns with free pick up from your home. Can't beat no-risk. To obtain great results I had to learn by making mistakes and watching a few videos.
Meanwhile, blending greens in to ice water reduces oxidation. Bright green colorindicatws less oxidation.
