I bought my wife a large set of these last year. The small ones hold up well, but the quart to *gallon size didn't hold up very well with things that had more regular opening and closing.

So back to what works... we just use the 1-Gallon Mason jars. They're not only airtight, but you can vacuum seal them a lot, or a little.

I make handles for our mason jars that are super easy. There's a ton of different ways to make them, just youtube it and see which version matches your needs and skill set.

I try to avoid plastic, but it's really hard to do. I also avoid Stainless Steel that comes into contact with my food/drink... and not just because it makes stuff taste metallic.
