I have this. The Walmart Onn Pro boxes are light years faster. it also constantly disconnect from wifi even though it roughly 30' from the router. Roku has a very user friendly UI, but beyond that I can no longer recommend them as there's far better options for less money.

I am a big fan of Roku (and my family, too). Bought this when it launched for $80 and it's their best device in my experience. Have recommended this to everyone who has asked me what to get for a dead simple streaming experience.
People complaining about ads? Android TV has that junk now, too, unfortunately.

Any difference between this and the older one? I wished it came with the rechargeable pro 2nd generation remote.

Do you know if Roku can do something that the regular mid-end Android TV can't?

Agreed. Roku has gone down hill. Ads, slow hardware, cheap remotes, etc. Get Onn Pro and make it like you want.

But God only know what you're losing in terms of privacy when you use anything Google based.

What exactly isn't private with Google? They collect the same data as Apple.

What's the point? The Walmart Onn TV 4K Plus is waaaaaay better and MSRP is $29.99.

Have the on pro, google streamer (2) and a few Roku's.

The only ones that don't ever have issues are the Roku's. They just work.

I personally prefer the Google UI, but it's glitchy. Apps lock up sometimes as well.

Strange. I've had mine for a few years and haven't had a problem. Is this an issue with newer models?
On a side note, any guesses if this will be cheaper during upcoming Prime days?

Just got an onn box 4k at Wal mart for $44. Keep in mind if you get the retroarch app with the onn box you can play console emulators on it up to the snes fluidly. I think psx and n64 it's no good

Doesn't this come with the rechargeable pro 2nd gen remote? I don't see the headphone jack of gen 1, it says backlit, and it comes with a USB C charge cord.
